Information The Eblin-Fuchs winery Estate is located in Zellenberg, just 12 km from Colmar, on the Wine Road between Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr (see the map). Up on a rocky spur, the village overlooks the vineyards and the Alsace plain. It is used to be a monastic place found in the ninth century by a religious man from Luxeuil abbey. The Latin Cella became zelle, and berg which comes from German (it means mount). Later in 1252, the place, a bailiwick administrative center owned by the bishop of Basel became a city with a fortified castle surrounded by a rampart. Its great wines have been famous since the distant Middle-Age as many documents mention it. Nowadays, Zellenberg is especially known for its wines coming from sunny lands and benefiting from a very good microclimate (among the driest in France).
